If you've noticed more paddles and pickleball players around the Havelock and Outram area lately, you're not imagining it — this pocket of central Singapore has quietly become one of the city's most convenient spots to play pickleball. Here's the local's rundown on getting there, parking, and making the most of a visit.
Havelock and Outram sit right in the geographic heart of Singapore, which means players are converging from the CBD, Chinatown, Tiong Bahru, and the west side without anyone facing a long trek. It's also a neighbourhood that mixes residential, hospitality, and F&B — so a pickleball session slots easily into an evening that might also include dinner, drinks, or a hotel stay.
Kings Pickleball Arena sits within the Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium at 317 Outram Rd, giving the area four premium outdoor courts with pro-level surfaces and proper lighting for evening play.
By MRT: The courts are just steps from Havelock MRT (TE16) on the Thomson-East Coast Line.
Exit 5 — follow the road down and you'll see the courts.
Exit 3 — the courts are directly opposite the bus stop.
By bus: Hop off at Havelock Station Exit 3, served by buses 5, 16, 16M, 75, 121, 123, 175, 195, and 970 — handy if you're coming from Chinatown, the CBD, or further along Havelock Road.
By car: Two solid parking options nearby:
Concorde Shopping Centre carpark (at the Holiday Inn) — $2.00/hour with a 10-minute grace period, daily including public holidays.
Roadside parking opposite, along Havelock Rd (H0055) — $0.60 per 30 minutes Monday to Saturday (7am–10:30pm), and completely free parking on Sundays.
Because the courts sit within a hotel, there's more around them than your average standalone pickleball venue:
Grab a bite or drinks at the hotel bar — several regulars treat a pickleball session as a proper night out, playing a match, then heading straight to the bar for a post-game drink. Guests who spend a minimum of SGD $20 nett at any of the hotel's dining outlets can use the shower facilities on Level 6 (just present your same-day F&B receipt at the Front Desk for an access key).
Cloudfields - Located at Tan Boon Liat Building, cloudfields is a popular cafe for your brunch before or after a pickleball game
Local Food Centres -
Zion Riverside Food Centre - Affordable local grub located 5-7 minutes walk away
Tiong Bahru Market - home of many popular hawker stalls, including longstanding brands and newer entrants
Ya Hua Bak Kut Teh - Right opposite the pickleball court nestles a traditional brand of more than 30 years history
Weekday off-peak (11am–4pm) tends to be quieter and easier for beginners to get comfortable, plus it's priced lower than peak hours.
Sunday parking is free at the multistorey carpark opposite — worth timing your weekend session around if you're driving.
Rent on-site if you're travelling light — paddles are available for $5 each, and balls can be grabbed from the on-site. There is a pro-shop at the shopping centre right beside the court where you can also rent professional paddles for your game.
Book in advance during peak evening slots (5pm–10pm), as courts close to the MRT and popular with the after-work crowd tend to fill up fast.
What makes the Havelock–Outram pickleball scene special isn't just the courts themselves — it's how easily a game folds into everything else the area has to offer. Play a match, grab a drink, shower up, and walk into Chinatown for dinner, all without needing to switch neighbourhoods.
